Root Mean Square (RMS)
The Root Mean Square (RMS) or Quadratic mean is defined as the square root of the arithmetic mean of the squared
elements.
The mean square is widely used to calculate the average of a set of numbers with alternating between positive and
negative values. Some most popular uses: the measurement of effective value of an alternating voltage and output
of audio equipment (watts RMS).
Enter all numbers in any order, separated by commas. Decimal number, negative or zero (0) are possible, but not
blank.
Use the decimal separator. For example: 11,000.17 enter 11000.17; The resultis shown, automatically after one click on "Calculate".
