Linear System of Equations

A linear system of equations has at least two equations. The solution of a system of equations, intends to find the unknown values of variables.
There are two types of results: consistent and inconsistent solution.
A system is considered consistent when it has at least one solution. When there are multiple solutions, the system is also called consistent and undetermined. Otherwise, an inconsistent system, there is no solution.
In fact, there are only three possibilities:
1) One unique solution. The system is consistent and independent;
2) Infinity many solution. The system is consistent and dependent;
3) No solution. The system is inconsistent.
To solve mathematics exercises and real life problems, involving unknown variables, follow these steps:
1) Read carefully the problem and identify the unknown variables;
2) Formulate the equations, according to the problem;
3)Solve equations calculating the unknown variables.
